Digital Parking System

Going Digital

Town Launches Digital Parking Permit System for 2016 - 2017 Winter Season

Just like every year, paid parking for the Village Parking Lots 1-13 went into effect for the winter season on Thanksgiving Day, but not everything is the same this year. Beginning this season, paid parking will be permitted and enforced digitally.

The Town of Snowmass Village has launched their new digital parking platform, NuPark, which utilizes License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology. This will allow residents, hotel guests, and employees to park in the Village Lots more conveniently than ever before by registering vehicles digitally. No more paper permit stickers on the windshield!

Cameras on police vehicles will be used to scan parking lots and detect vehicles with or without permits. Those who receive a violation will be able to pay or appeal the citation right from their computer or smart device.

While this new system will make things easier, drivers are still encouraged to ride the Village Shuttle. Parking at Town Park Station and riding the Village Shuttle will remain free. Learn more about parking in Snowmass Village by following the link below.

Cow Elk

Wildlife Trail Closures Begin Dec. 1

Respect wildlife. Respect seasonal closures.

Elk herds have been spotted in the Horse Ranch area this week, and local herds are currently moving into winter ranges for the season. Local winter ranges include the North Mesa and Sky Mountain Park, and they provide critical food sources for wildlife during the hardest times of the year. North Rim Trail, Seven Star Trail, and Sky Mountain Park trails will be closed beginning December 1st to protect this winter range and provide a peaceful place for wildlife to negotiate winter conditions. These trails will reopen on May 16.

Winter Season Closures:

  • Rim Trail North, including the North Mesa Equestrian Trail: December 1 - May 16
  • Sky Mountain Park trails: December 1 - May 16
  • Seven Star Trail: December 1 - May 16
The south portion of the Rim Trail is open year-round.

Trail closures are strictly enforced by the Town's Animal Services Division, in partnership with Colorado Parks & Wildlife, and there is a zero tolerance policy for trail closure violations. Fines can reach up to $5,000. Wildlife monitoring cameras are in use in closed areas. Thank you for your understanding and respect of wildlife.
