Don’t Forget, Bring Your Recycled Bag

The State of Colorado has enacted House Bill 21-1162, the “Plastic Pollution Reduction Act,” to mitigate the harmful effects of single-use plastic carryout bags.

If you want to avoid the 10-cent per bag charge, remember to bring your own recyclable bags.

Be Nice and Share the Trail

Trail Etiquette Tips for the Trail

Here are a few suggestions to ensure that you and everyone you may encounter on the trail enjoy the same amazing experiences while out on the trails.

  • Uphill Traffic Has the Right of Way-Trail users traveling uphill on trails always have the right of way.
  • Be Trail Aware -If you like to wear headphones while hiking or biking, ensure the volume is low enough to hear your surroundings.
  • Trail Traffic Laws - Bikers yield to hikers, and hikers/bikers yield to equestrian riders. Horses are easily spooked. Always approach cautiously and ask the horseback rider for the best options for safely passing.
  • Dogs & Leashes - As a reminder, there are no dogs allowed on Hawk Ridge Trail. All dogs should be kept on leashes when using Snowmass Village Trails.

Brush Creek & Kearns Road Culvert Projects are underway.

The Chapel culvert project remains on schedule. The Kearns Road culvert is still in design but we are starting to order long lead-time materials so work can begin in a month. Remember, it is a continual flow of traffic when approaching the Brush Creek /Owl Creek intersection and the Owl Creek/Highline intersection. Weekly updates will be provided throughout the project. Project information can be found online at tosv.com/566/BrushCreek-Culvert-Reconstruction Comments, feedback, or suggestions for improvement can be shared with an email to: project@tosv.com. We appreciate your patience during this construction project!

Please be patient as construction continues.

JAS Detour Map

JAS Detour Temporary Single-lane Access Road

Due to the road closures for the JAS Concert and the Brush Creek culvert project, a temporary single-lane access road will be opened for emergency services and residents in the Melton Ranch, Horse Ranch, the Crossings, Rodeo Place & Coffey Place neighborhoods from Thursday, August 31 to Monday, September 4. Traffic control will be in place for the duration of the alternate route.

A temporary, single-lane access road will be available to access the Melton Ranch, Horse Ranch, the Crossings, Rodeo Place & Coffey Place neighborhoods during the road closures for JAS weekend. There will be no JAS access through this route and traffic control will be in place.

Church service will not be affected. Alternate routes for bicyclists and pedestrians will remain in place and transit service will be maintained. Solid waste collection will occur as normal, but residents are encouraged to not overfill dumpsters during the weekend.
