2022 Budget Under ReviewTown Council to Vote on Budget Monday, Nov. 1st The Town Council has been reviewing the draft 2022 Town budget throughout the month of October. On Monday, November 1st, the Town Council is expected to vote on the budget to make it official for the ensuing fiscal year.
Budget Summary Message: For many years, the Town Council has developed and adopted a fiscally conservative approach to the annual budget process putting many financial safety nets in place. These safety nets have proved helpful during uncertain times, such as the pandemic throughout 2020 and into 2021. In 2021, the Town’s revenue was able to bounce back and is projected to end the year with an additional $1.7M mainly due to increases in sales taxes and building revenue. Some revenues such as transportation parking fees, the annual Ski Co contribution and interest income remained down.
The 2022 proposed budget anticipates keeping the aforementioned financial precautions and safeguards in place. It also aims to accomplish the Town Council's strategic goals.
Among these initiatives, the 2022 budget appropriates the funds necessary to accomplish the following types of projects:
- The capital costs for construction of a mall transit station.
- The design costs for further engineering of a roundabout at Owl and Brush Creek Roads
- Capital costs for the installation of additional fiber optic / high speed internet infrastructure
- Funds to begin improvements to the Town Park / Entryway
- Add new staff positions, such as a Police Officer, IT Support Specialist, and a Transportation Maintenance Worker.
- Conducting another Community Survey in 2022
- Adding a community collection site for household composting
- You can review the entire draft 2022 budget online at tosv.com.
The Town Council welcomes any and all feedback. You can participate in the meeting, or email the entire Town Council at council@tosv.com.
