Betsy Crum has been hired as the Town’s new Housing Director.
Betsy will be joining the Town from Hartford, Connecticut where she is currently the Executive Director of the Women’s Institute for Housing and Economic Development. She brings over thirty-five years of experience in housing and community development with her, having served in multiple leadership roles with various housing coalitions and non-profits. She is skilled in housing development, financial packaging and management, and strategic planning. She has created or preserved over 500 units of affordable and supportive housing across eleven different developments.
Betsy is an alumni of the University of Connecticut where she earned a degree in Urban Studies. She went on to continue her education at MIT, studying “Fundamentals of Real Estate Development,” and at the University of St. Thomas where she studied Nonprofit Management.
“We had a lot of great candidates for this position but Betsy truly stood out due to her leadership and experience,” said Clint Kinney, Snowmass Village Town Manager. “She brings a solid background with a great vision to continue to move us forward, and she will be a great fit with our team.”
Betsy says she’s eager to move to Colorado, where two of her children currently live. "I'm so impressed with Snowmass Village and its approach to supporting its workforce housing needs. I am really looking forward to working for the Housing Department, the Town and all of the residents of Snowmass Village," added Crum. She is expected to begin working in April.
