Post Office Closure Elections Impact

Town of Snowmass Village Media Releases Posted on October 14, 2025

The Pitkin County Elections Department this week learned of a planned temporary closure of the Snowmass Village Post Office. According to the U.S. Postal Service, the Snowmass Village facility, located at 16 Kearns Road, will be closed starting Friday, Oct. 24, for five to seven days.

Snowmass Village residents are asked to pick up their mail in Aspen for that duration.

Pitkin County Elections Department wants to alert voters who may not have received their ballot before the planned closure that there are options available to them.

Replacement mail ballots may be picked up at the Pitkin County Administration Building, 530 E. Main Street in Aspen, weekdays from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., between now and the November 4th election.

In-person voting in the Administration Building will be available starting Oct. 27, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Election Day, Nov. 4, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. In-person voting requires accompanying identification.

“As ballots cannot be forwarded, we want to ensure the public knows that they can come to our offices for a replacement ballot,” said Ingrid K. Grueter, Pitkin County Clerk & Recorder.

Grueter acknowledged that the temporary closure could be inconvenient for Snowmass Village residents.

“Besides providing safe and secure elections, the Elections department wants to make voting as easy and as possible,” she said.
