CORE Helping Moderate-Income Families Save Energy

Posted on January 2, 2014 at 10:24 AM by Kelly Vaughn

Make a new years resolution to save energy AND money in 2014! January 31st is the deadline to apply for Reach, a program by CORE to help moderate-income families in Snowmass Village and the greater Roaring Fork Valley make energy upgrades to their home to improve comfort, safety, and efficiency.

Reach provides a $2,500 grant to homeowners who qualify to take part in the Energy Smart program which includes the following services:
  • Home energy assessment and home safety tests
  • Installation of instant energy saving fixes
  • Energy coaching

The remaining grant funds will be applied to subsidize upgrades such as insulation, new appliances, efficient boilers, and more. Also, Reach homeowners who met the income criteria and complete their projects by July 14, 2014 will be entered to win a free solar electric system.

If you are a homeowner in Pitkin County, you can see if you qualify for reach on CORE's website.
