Upper Brush Creek Road Opened On Time
As of Wednesday evening, Upper Brush Creek Road is open to one-way traffic - going uphill. Downhill traffic will need to continue to use the Carriage Way detour. Keeping the traffic limited to one direction cuts down on delays by eliminating the need to stop and alternate traffic. Opening one lane also allows RFTA buses to travel the normal route up to the mall, and the regional service has been returned to normal.
This one-way configuration is expected to be in place for the next several weeks while the soil nail wall, curb and gutter, and first lift of asphalt is installed.
A big thanks to Gould Construction and the crews that made reaching this milestone on time possible.
Retaining Wall Construction & Other Improvements:
The retaining wall construction in front of Town Hall is ongoing with the last of the soil nails to be completed soon. Decorative stone is now being applied to the backside of the two retaining walls on the south side of Brush Creek Road, and the landscaping irrigation is being installed across the project area.
The project team appreciates residents and visitors to continue to walk, drive, and cycle through the project area carefully, as additional sidewalk and median work must still be completed in the roadway.
