Project Update: Friday, July 8
Round and Round:
Have you taken a lap on the new roundabout yet? As you have probably noticed, the roundabout was opened to normal traffic last week, as well as Upper Kearns Road. However, they are not 100% complete yet. The final lift of asphalt is scheduled towards the end of the project.
Please remember that the roundabout is one-way, and vehicles entering the circle must yield to oncoming traffic. Traffic in the circle, on the other hand, has the right of way and should proceed to their exit without stopping.
Phase 3 is Underway:
Wednesday, construction crews started work on phase 3 of the project. Phase 3 aims to lower utilities, grade, and pave the upper portion of Brush Creek Road. Excavation is currently taking place, but with most of the work taking place out of the way of intersection traffic, delays have been minimal to non-existent for most drivers.
Because of the narrow corridor that this work is taking place in, however, the road will be closed to all traffic for approximately 4 weeks. A detour is in place via Carriage Way, and residents and guests can still access all portions of the upper Village.
Due to the closure on Upper Brush Creek, RFTA is unable to service the stops located in the upper Village. Therefore, the Village Shuttle will be filling in for RFTA and connecting regional passengers to RFTA buses. The Village Shuttle will pick riders up at the normal locations and shuttle them to the Base Village Transit Station where they can transfer to a RFTA bus. All routes and schedules remain the same.
Also, if you are passing by the construction area on foot, please use the designated crosswalks and walkways. A temporary crosswalk has been put in place across Brush Creek Road, and a permanent crosswalk is in place on Upper Kearns.
