New Year's Resolutions We Can Help you Keep in 2015

Posted on January 2, 2015 at 2:30 PM by Kelly Vaughn

New year's resolutions: lots of people make them, few stick with them. But where there's a will, there's a way. Here's how the Town can help you reach some of your goals in 2015.

1. Get in (or stay in) shape
Whatever your sport or activity of choice, the Snowmass Village Recreation Center is an affordable option to help you and your family achieve your fitness goals. Plus, they offer personal training, fitness classes, adult leagues, kids camps, and more. View membership options, rates, hours, and facility information online.

2. Leave the car at home
If you're looking to reduce your vehicle miles traveled for budgetary or environmental reasons, the Village Shuttle is a great option offering convenient and free service in and around Snowmass Village and connections to RFTA regional service. Visit our transportation website for up-to-date schedules, travel tips, and more.

3. Go green(er)
With single stream recycling, it has never been easier in Snowmass Village to reduce the amount of waste created by your home or business. View a list of acceptable items here. You can also dispose of your holiday waste responsibly by recycling your Christmas tree and old electronics.

4. Enjoy the great outdoors
The Roaring Fork Valley is home to one of the most vast trail networks in the country, and Snowmass Village boasts spectacular biking, hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing terrain. Pick up a Snowmass Village Trail map at the Recreation Center, Town Hall, or guest service counters, or view Pitkin County's interactive online map (and app), Pitkin Outside. Remember that the same trails that we enjoy are also enjoyed by wildlife, and the North Rim Trail and Sky Mountain park are closed through May 15th.

5. Get involved in local government
If you resolved to become more active in the decisions that shape your community staying informed is the first step. The Town offers a suite of tools you can use to understand the issues facing Town Council, keep track of community meetings and open houses, and participate in timely discussions. Learn more about the many ways to participate in community dialogue.

6. Have more fun
In addition to the annual favorites there are plenty of new activities for the family to enjoy in Snowmass Village. Visit gosnowmass.com for activity ideas for all ages, restaurant information, and upcoming events.

Here's to a happy and healthy 2015!
