Regional Matters: The Future of our Airport

Posted on October 29, 2014 at 10:14 AM by Kelly Vaughn

The future of the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is a matter of high importance to the Snowmass Community. Not only does it provide close and convenient air service for residents, but it is also is critical to maintaining a vibrant tourist base year-round.

Currently, Pitkin County government is evaluating various projects and priorities that will keep the airport safe, competitive, and operational in years to come. Want to learn more? View a recent presentation from Pitkin County Manager Jon Peacock.

Pitkin County invites Snowmass residents to collaborate with them online. They now have an application - produced by a company called Peak Democracy--that makes it possible for them to hear from citizens even when they can't make it to a County Commissioner meeting, or public open house.

They are launching this exciting new tool with a question about the future of our airport, which is one of the biggest challenges facing county government over the next several years.

Please go to www.pitkincountyconnect.com, and register to comment on the current topic and future topics.

The county relies on your feedback, and this tool allows you to be involved whether you live in town, are traveling, or own a second home here.

Thank you for participating!
