Election Day is coming up on November 4th. Fortunately, in Pitkin County, voting in the upcoming November election is as easy as one, two, there. Just make sure you understand all of the recent changes to voting in Pitkin County. This useful video from Janice vos Caudill, Pitkin County Clerk & Recorder takes you through the process.
1. Review Your Voter Registration
Review your voter registration information on pitkinvotes.org
. Click on Online Voter Registration
. Review your record to make sure all information is correct. Update your address, check when your ballot is mailed to you, and, if you decide to mail your completed ballot back in, you can check when your ballot was received by the Clerk & Recorder’s Office.
2. Vote your Ballot When it Arrives
In this election, all registered voters will receive an official ballot in the mail. Look for yours after October 14th. Take the necessary time to carefully review your ballot. Uncertain as to when yours will arrive? Check the status at www.pitkinvotes.org
3. Mail or Drop off Your Ballot
There are several options to return your ballot.
Option 1: Mail it in
If returning your ballot through the mail, the Clerk’s office recommends you use two stamps to mail in your ballot. Allow plenty of time for the ballot to arrive at the Pitkin County Clerk and Recorders Office before or on election day.
Option 2: Drop it Off in Person
Drop it off at the Pitkin County Clerk and Recorder’s Office in person at 530 E Main St. by 7p.m. on election day. If you want to vote early, or you just want the “I Voted” sticker, this is a great option for you.
Want to take advantage of early voting? Starting October 20th, visit the Pitkin County Clerk and Recorder’s Office from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday; and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday October 25th and November 1st.
Option 3: Vote in Person on Election Day
If you still want to vote at a polling place (say you misplaced your mail in ballot or made an error), you can do so on election day from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. The local poling place in Snowmass Village is:
