Recycling Ambassadors, Thank you (1).jpg

The Free Concerts on Fanny Hill have been an important community tradition enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. As concert attendance continues to grow, so has the Town of Snowmass Village’s commitment to making this event environmentally sustainable.

Our new volunteer program allows you to play a role in putting our best foot forward, educate the community, and protect the natural beauty that makes Snowmass Village a tremendous place to work, live, and visit. Each week, we’re looking to local businesses and volunteers to pull together a “Green Team.” and be Recycling Ambassadors.

For a selected concert date, you and 10-20 of your colleagues will be responsible for promoting the responsible disposal of waste and recycling by staffing waste stations and advising concert-goers on what can be recycled, and what can’t. This is a great opportunity to give back to your community and provides a great team building opportunity.

Recycling Ambassador Responsibilities:
  • Volunteers must meet at the Fanny Hill concert venue at 15 minutes prior to gates opening for a short training brief, see below for tentative times.
  • Volunteers will then be assigned to various waste stations around the venue (a total of 20).
  • Volunteers will ’staff’ their waste station throughout the concert. “Staffing” your waste station may involve:
  • Answering questions about what can be recycled and what can’t
  • Promoting responsible recycling techniques (i.e. advising people to recycle, preventing non-recyclable items from going into recycle bins)
  • Bear in mind that all of this is done in a spirit of customer service and education
  • Recycling ambassadors are not expected to sort or haul recyclables, unless teams are willing
  • Volunteers should also be prepared to answer additional questions about what the event is doing to encourage public transportation, and other green efforts that may not be visible to the public.
