2010 Carbon Footprint Report
This Spring TOSV completed it’s first-ever Carbon Footprint Report. Thanks to the hard work of Rick Heede with Climate Mitigation Services, the Town and its citizens now have a concrete, scientific baseline in which to begin making small and large changes to reduce our carbon footprint. The quick and dirty numbers are: TOSV emitted 310,856 tons of greenhouse gas emissions in 2009. That’s 163 tons per person. The national average is 26 per person. Town staff, the Environmental Advisory Committee and Council is currently examining ways to reduce our impact on the environment. To access the full report, click here.
