Disposing of Snowstorm Branches

Snowmass Village trees were hit hard from the early, wet, snow. Branches have piled up everywhere, and Town crews have been working hard to clear roadways, walkways, parks, and trails.

Here's how you can properly dispose of the branches from your own property:

Schedule Pick Up Service:
Due to the influx of of branches from the recent snowstorm, the solid waste division is providing pick up service to Snowmass Village residents.

For $31 / cubic yard, the Town will pick up bundles of branches at your property. Please bundle the branches in 4' x 2' x 2' bundles, tied with rope or twine. Place your bundles near the roadway, but do not block driveways, drainage, the road, trails, walkways, etc.

Call 970-923-5110 to schedule branch pick up.

Please do not dispose of branches in the community dumpsters.

Curbside Customers:
For customers that currently pay for curbside service, solid waste will pick up a maximum of two (2) 4' x 2' x 2' bundles per week in addition to normal trash and recycling. Anything in excess of this amount can be scheduled for pick up at a rate of $31 / cubic yard.

Please dial 970-923-5110 to schedule branch pick up.

Take Them to the Pitkin County Landfill
You can also haul your branches directly to the landfill for composting.

Each resident qualifies for a $100 credit to dispose of waste at the landfill. Learn more about the credit and how to redeem yours at www.landfillrules.com.

Compost Fall Leaves
Leaves can be composted at the rodeo lot in the leaf composting bin.

This service is for residential LEAVES ONLY. Branches and other yard waste must be composted separately, due to restrictions at the landfill.
