Mud and Flood Information

Spring flooding is a strong possibility in our area this year due to the combination of warm temperatures, record snow pack and the likelihood of heavy spring precipitation. Please join us for a very important community meeting in May to discuss ways to protect yourself and our property. Important - Road Closure!
  • Carriage Way from The Treehouse to the Lower Willows Condominiums – commonly referred to as “The Gap Section” – will be closed to all traffic (except access to The Lichenhearth and the Tamarack Townhomes) from Monday, April 14th to June 6th, 2008.  
  • Traffic to the Snowmass Mall and West Village properties, above the Lower Willows, will need to use Brush Creek Road.
  • To accommodate Town special events, there will be one lane open on Carriage Way to downhill traffic from June 6th until June 30th.


New Library at Town Hall Now Open!

In partnership with the Pitkin County Library, the new Snowmass Village Town Hall now has hundreds of library books available for you to check-out.  Come browse the selection of children's books, novels, non-fiction, cookbooks, reference guides and more at this unique satellite library station!  Head to the second floor, plop down in a comfy chair and enjoy your favorite book.  For more information, call 923-3777.

Announcements
Attention Village Shuttle and RFTA Riders
Due to the road closure on Lower Carriageway, TOSV's Village Shuttle will be performing the regional connections from the Mall to Highway 82 beginning 5/14/08. Service will be run around the Upper Brush Creek Rd past Mountain View until Lower Carriageway is reopened. Departure times for the regional service will remain the same, with Mall departures at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. The RFTA direct buses will be making a transfer to the Village Shuttle buses at Town Park Station during the closure of Lower Carriageway. For more information call 923-2543.
It's Bear Season!
Bear season is upon us and the Town’s Wildlife Ordinance is in effect April 15th through November 15th. Click here for more information.
Daddy-Daughter Splash Night!
Start a new tradition and bring your daughter(s) out to enjoy a special night at our aquatic facility on Saturday, May 3rd from 5-8pm! Activities include music, contests, prizes and snacks. Advance registration required, $30 per couple. This event is the perfect opportunity for fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or big brothers to take their special little lady out for a night she will never forget! Each girl will leave with a special party favor. Please call 922-2240.

1.) Update for 4/28 - 5/9

All Around Town 
April 29th - The Road Department will be re-striping Brush Creek, Owl Creek and Highline roads all day.
Entryway
May 1st - The Road Dept. will have alternating one lane traffic on Brush Creek Road for 4 hours east of the roundabout to the recreation center.
Upper Snowmelt Road 
May 5th - 15th - The Road Dept. will be sealing cracks in the existing Snowmelt Road from the Lower Willows to the Top Of the Village.
Owl Creek Road
May 5th - 7th - The Road Dept. will have traffic control on Owl Creek Road above Fairway 3 for approx 3 days.
 

2.) Road Weight Limits In Effect!
All vehicles, construction or otherwise, must not exceed 40,000 Pounds GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) on town roadways between March 15 and June 15 of every year. To obtain a weight limit exemption application,
